How to Make Internet Explorer Your Default Internet Browser

Sometimes other programs, such as Firefox and Opera, can accidentally be set to your default internet browser. This is how to change it back to Internet Explorer on Windows XP.

   Open Internet Explorer

   Go to Tools > Internet Options

   Click to the Programs tab

   Click Reset Web Settings

   When the pop-up menu comes up, select Yes.

   Another method that does reset all your other options:

   Open Control Panel and double-click Internet Options.

   Click the Programs tab.

   Click to select the Internet Explorer should check to see whether it is the default browser check box.

    Click OK.

    Start Internet Explorer and when you are prompted to make it the default browser, click Yes
