iOS 5 Jailbroken (Tethered)

About two hours ago, MuscleNerd (@MuscleNerd), a prominent developer and hacker for the iDevice, has confirmed that iOS 5 (Beta 1) is jailbreakable. The picture above shows MuscleNerd's iPod running Cydia. According to him, the jailbreak was done in conjunction with the limera1n exploit and a tethered boot. He mentioned that the boot rom exploit has not been patched and will work on iOS 5 final.

Although a tethered boot is aggravating as you have to connect your iDevice to your computer every time you reboot, the sign that jailbreaking is still capable so early on is a huge plus for jailbreakers worldwide. For those of us who are die hard jailbreak users and will for life, it is no longer a matter of will iOS 5 be jailbroken but when untethered will be available.
